An art, music or drama therapist allows people to express their feelings and emotions through art, music or drama.
A protected title is one protected by law. Anyone using these titles must be registered by the HCPC. Failure to do so may result in a criminal prosecution and a fine of up to £5,000. There are a number of protected titles:
- Art psychotherapist
- Art therapist
- Drama therapist
- Music therapist
Members are guided by Code of Ethics and Principles of Professional Practice Guidelines with the aim of providing members with fundamental principles, standards and guidelines for good practice. The Code and Guidelines support therapists in their work and provide protection for the public
Members adhere to the HCPC Standards of Conduct, Performance and Ethics and Standards of Proficiency for Arts Therapists
